Elcor designs, manufactures and delivers electrical enclosures for automation and industry – control panels, low-voltage switchgear, distribution boards and automation solutions – along with installation and service. Elcor is the largest manufacturer of electrical enclosures for automation and industry in the Nordics, with more than 1,100 employees, 13 production facilities and around 1,500 customers. In Sweden, Elcor is represented by Elcor Sverige AB in Västerås.
We deliver to pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, data centers, marine, oil and gas, energy and power grids, public infrastructure and construction, as well as other industries with specialized requirements. Each industry has its own demands, such as hygiene, explosion protection, redundancy or validation, and we adapt design and documentation accordingly.
Our offering covers five areas: control panels, low-voltage switchgear and distribution boards (including construction site distribution boards), automation and software, service and installation, and motion & drives (motors, gearboxes and frequency converters). We can take responsibility for the entire chain – from requirements and design to manufacturing, testing, commissioning and service.
A distribution board distributes electrical power from the main supply to circuits, machines and systems, using components such as circuit breakers, fuses and residual current devices. A control panel controls and monitors the installation, typically using a PLC, frequency converters, relays and an operator panel (HMI). Many facilities need both, and we deliver them as a coordinated solution.
Our switchgear and distribution boards are built to EN IEC 61439-1 and -2. Control panels that form part of a machine’s electrical equipment also comply with EN 60204-1. When required, we build to ATEX/IECEx, UL 508A and CSA C22.2, GMP/GAMP for the pharmaceutical industry, and requirements for marine installations. Our manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Yes. We build UL-certified enclosures to UL 508A and CSA C22.2 for projects in North America, or wherever the customer requires UL standards globally. This means UL-listed components, cable sizing according to AWG, SCCR calculation and correct labeling, so the enclosure can be approved by local authorities.
Yes. We deliver ATEX- and IECEx-certified enclosures for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, in Ex d, Ex e and Ex t protection types for both gas and dust hazardous areas. We also stock Ex products such as junction boxes, heaters and seals, and support you all the way from zone classification to documentation and inspection.
FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is a test of the enclosure at our factory before delivery, where function, labeling and documentation are verified – preferably together with the customer. Our low-voltage switchgear and distribution boards undergo FAT before delivery and are supplied with complete documentation, which shortens on-site commissioning.
Yes. Our teams install, commission and maintain electrical enclosures and automation systems, and we offer troubleshooting, upgrades and lifecycle support after delivery. For business-critical operations, services are available around the clock, all year round.
Yes. We rebuild, upgrade and modernize existing switchgear, distribution boards and control systems – for example when increasing capacity, replacing outdated components or meeting new safety requirements. We plan the work to keep downtime as short as possible.
Contact us with a description of your project, ideally including drawings, a requirements specification and your preferred timeline. Price and lead time depend on size, complexity, standards and component availability. Some standard designs, such as construction site distribution boards, are normally in stock, while customized solutions are planned per projec
